vocalist/ (mostly) jazz/ NYC & MIA

A jazz vocalist by trade, Zoë Fromer strives to embody the passion and rebellion that the genre invokes.  Zoë’s shows bridge the gap between jazz, rock, indie, and funk into a delicious, heady mix that’s all her own.

Music entered Zoë's life by accident, and she's never looked back. Despite coming from a non-musical family, she has performed with an impressive set of contemporary jazz luminaries (including Cyrille Aimée, Justin Faulkner, Pete Rodriguez, James Francies, and Ulysses Owens, Jr.) and has performed at some of the country's most notable venues (including Miami's New World Symphony, Austin's Elephant Room, and New York's Rockwood Music Hall and Small's Jazz Club).

Zoë was always casually interested in music until high school, where she stumbled upon the jazz band practicing during lunch hour - and asked to join. She started singing standards in front of the big band during the day and at local venues at night, veraciously adding to her repertoire. She quickly became successful in her hometown, winning first place in the 2013 Palm Beach Post Pathfinder award for vocal music.

After high school, Zoë attended the University of Miami Frost School of Music on a full academic scholarship.  She was part of the Downbeat Award-winning JVII, JVI, and Salsa Orchestra ensembles, in the latter as vocal director. In 2016, Zoë was a featured vocal soloist with two orchestras: with the New World Symphony MIXTAPE concert for which she sang The Beach Boys' "God Only Knows," and with the Henry Mancini Orchestra under the direction of film composer James Newton Howard.  She also found time to teach at Live! Modern School and become a fixture at Miami's hippest venues while graduating cum laude a semester early.

After establishing herself in Miami, Zoë's heart led her to New York City. She is now exploring the city's jazz scene and her own arranging and songwriting, both in the jazz vein and with her new, untitled rock project.
